Supervised Practice Information

Effective July 1, 2020, the Minnesota Supreme Court has adopted the Supervised Practice Rules. These Rules broaden the scope of and supersede the current Student Practice Rules.

  1. Instructions for applying for certification or recertification as a Law Student Practitioner may be found here.
  2. Instructions for applying for certification as a Supervised Practitioner may be found here.
  3. Instructions for applying for certification as a Student Observer may be found here.
  4. Instructions for converting from a Law Student Practitioner to Supervised Practitioner may be found here.

The Board is working with the law schools to transition recent graduates who meet the qualifications under the Supervised Practice Rules from certified law students to Supervised Practitioners. If you believe that you should be listed and you are not, please follow up with your law school registrar for additional assistance.
