Supervised Practice Information

Effective July 1, 2020, the Minnesota Supreme Court has adopted the Supervised Practice Rules. These Rules broadened the scope of and superseded the former Student Practice Rules.

On September 29, 2020, the Minnesota Supreme Court adopted Court Rule Amendments authorizing the Legal Paraprofessionals Pilot Project (Rule 12) effective March 1, 2021 through March 2023.  Rule 12 is administered by the Legal Paraprofessionals Standing Committee. On December 9, 2021, the Court updated Rule 12 effective January 1, 2022. On October 6, 2022, the Court updated Rule 12, effective October 14, 2022. In order for the certification or recertification application to be processed, all required information must be received by the Board office. Please allow a week from the date of receipt of all required information for processing.
